Forward and backward citation chasing for reviews
Citation Chaser is a free-to-use, web-based app tool designed to collect references (backward citation chasing) and citations (forward citation chasing) from large set of studies/records. As the first step, the reviewer must confirm that the records entered have been correctly identified in the Lens.org database. The table of retrieved starting records can then be downloaded as a RIS file. After this, the reviewer can then proceed to conduct citation chasing to retrieve all relevant records that were not obtained before. Citationchaser accepts article identifiers such as digital object identifiers (DOIs), COR-EIDs (the CORE repository identifiers), PMIDs (PubMedidentifiers), and PMCIDs (PubMed Central identifiers). It can also allow multiple IDs to be searched concurrently. However, its limitation is in its reliance on the Lens.org databases, which limits search in other databases that would be relevant.
