Crowdsourced critical appraisal of research
CrowdCARE is a free web-based platform used to teach and support the critical appraisal of skills that underpin inquiry-based learning and evidence-based practice. It consists of interactive tutorial modules, an article search mechanism, a novel article rating system and a dynamic set of components that use gamification to encourage continued participation. The ratings in the CrowdCARE database are crowdsourced (from trained users, including students, health practitioners, and academic experts), and the tool does not have discipline boundaries. Users can appraise any study of interest, and contribute their own ratings to the database. The tool also enables one to search for articles and view their ratings.
