Extracts trial characteristics from full-text reports
ExaCT (Extracting Accurate efficacy and safety information from ClinicalTrials.gov) is an automatic data extraction tool to help users extract data from ClinicalTrials.gov in an analysis-ready format. Users input the National Clinical Trial identification number OR PubMed ID, for the tool to extract relevant data automatically. The tool comprises an automatic information extraction (IE) engine that extracts sentences and fragments of text from the journal articles as descriptors of the information elements of interest. The tool allows users to select specific fields relevant to their studies, enabling the creation of tailored spreadsheets for meta-analysis. ExaCT reduces the time spent on manual extraction by about 60% and extracts data with over 80% accuracy.
